Introducing St Louis Chiropractor Dr. Linda Pecaut
I didn't experience a miracle when I received my first chiropractic adjustment, but I did receive relief from the back pain I had from carrying my young son around. All it took was a twist while trying to reach for something and I felt the strangest pulling then I could barely move. The first adjustment provided some relief and a few adjustments later, the pain was entirely gone. Now, when I get the first twinge of tightness in that area, I get adjusted and I've never experienced back pain like that since!
When I was first introduced to Chiropractic philosophy and the Chiropractic lifestyle, it really resonated with me. I had already begun to realize what I ate, what I drank, how much exercise I got, and a positive attitude made all the difference. Add to that the power of a chiropractic adjustment to allow the body to heal itself and I found my passion! Am I the perfect role model or poster child for the chiropractic lifestyle? Absolutely not! I try a little harder each day to do things correctly, and I teach my family to do the same. Little by little, we're all getting healthier together!
Chiro Wellness was created to be a haven from whatever is going on in your life… a place where you can take a deep breath, improve your state of mind, and get and stay well. You’ll obtain honest information, and receive holistic, natural healing. The comfortable, homey atmosphere is designed to help you relax as you soon as you walk through the door.
I want to help people get back to the basics of health. Eating better, drinking plenty of water, exercising (or, at least, moving around), and getting adjusted regularly to keep the nervous system functioning properly.
It is wonderful to see people get and stay well. Although I treat the spine which affects the nervous system, it's always gratifying to hear how other healing has occurred with regular adjustments: calming an overactive bladder; relieving sinus pressure; relieving or eliminating headaches; eliminating numbness/tingling in both arms; and much more. I am honored to share the power of Chiropractic with others!
A little about me... I'm originally from the San Francisco Bay Area in California. I moved back to my roots in the Midwest while in my early twenties. My husband, Joe, was born and raised in St. Louis Hills (and for those natives who just have to know - he went to CBC for high school!).
I completed my undergraduate work at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California where I received a B.S. in Public Administration and a bilingual (Spanish/English) Certificate in Inter-American Studies. I received a B.S. in Human Biology from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri while obtaining my Doctorate in Chiropractic.
My husband, Joe, and I have been married over eighteen years! We have a magnificent son, Jacob, who is twelve. Joe teaches Religion at Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School and Jacob is in the Sixth grade at St. Gabriel the Archangel School. We have two cats, Kita and J, and a lab-pit mix, Lucy, who keeps busy. We recently lost our fourteen year old mutt, Riley, so we're adjusting to having a "baby" in the house! We have family and friends in all parts of the world and love to travel whenever we get a chance.
I get adjusted every week or so just to keep me feeling good. It keeps my spine moving so I stop most aches and pains before they start. It also strengthens my immune system so I fight off a lot of colds. My family gets adjusted every week, too. Since Jacob is growing very quickly, he’s always wanting an adjustment or some muscle work! And Joe, who did all the rehabbing at the practice when he wasn’t teaching or volunteering, often has something out of whack!
It's hard to eat as well as we should, but it's nice to see healthier food becoming more available. It's not always about making drastic changes in your diet as you try to eat better. I believe it's all about baby steps – just do a little better each day. One area I really struggle with is making the time to exercise. Moving is critical to staying healthy - it doesn't need to be vigorous exercise. I try to walk whenever possible. And, I feel my best when I stick to a regular but varied routine - cardio, resistance, and light weights.
I believe one of the most critical components of health is a positive attitude. It's not always easy to maintain an optimistic attitude – you often have to work at it. My husband and I enjoy reading personal improvement books or listening to motivational CD's. We keep up with current events, but we try not to watch too many news programs or listen to them on the radio - the media loves to highlight the negativity in the world! The power of your mind has been proven – we just need to use it the right way!
Enough about me! How can we best serve you with safe and natural Chiropractic care? Give us a call today and we can help you take your first step towards better health so you and your family can… be well!!
